Riley Avenue is a quaint, diminutive, red brick streetscape on the edge of the Main Post, but in the middle of it all. On one side, six two-bedroom residences built in 1909 for senior officers feature roomy front porches for enjoying the view of the Golden Gate Bridge, and an enclosed back porch for laundry and storage. On the other side, six three-bedroom homes built 30 years later to house enlisted officers feature an enclosed sun porch and a formal dining room. Riley Avenue is seconds away from the park's cultural offerings – restaurants, outdoor events on theMain Parade Ground, free live music inside the Presidio Officers' Club, and even a bowling alley. Trails connect west to the Golden Gate Bridge or south to the park's wild open spaces.
