River Market Flats, located at 518 7th Street, is a 1980's example of efforts to revitalize a struggling urban neighborhood 40 years ago. Comprised of two buildings making up thirty apartments, this complex was originally called Penzel Place to honor the grand 1800s Victorian, the Penzel House that originally sat on its land. All thirty apartments have been updated and now feature in-unit washerdryers, updated kitchens with quartz countertops, bathrooms with extra storage IKEA vanities, new hardwood, or tile floors (yes, some are pet friendly!), and access to Hyperleap internet.
